Boys Hockey
The boy's hockey team's season ended yesterday in
the SWOSSAA Semi final when St. Chris. downed the
Tartans 4 to 1. The boys were unable to harness
the intensity seen in the Kent Final and managed
to put only one goal past the St. Chris. tender
on a shot by Bobby Zenick.
Congratulations to the third consecutive Kent
Champion Tartan Boys Hockey Team!! You've
Had a great season Tartans!!
Thank you to all the fans for your support throughout
the season and to Miss Day for arranging the fan
bus.
Girls Hockey
Yesterday in the Girls SWOSSAA Semi-Final at Wallaceburg
Memorial Arena, the Tartans were defeated 3-2 in
a close match with North Lambton Secondary School.
North Lambton opened a 2-0 lead in the first period,
however, the Tartans were able to tie the game with
6 minutes left in the third period. North Lambton
responded quickly to the tying Tartan goal. The
Tartans played the final minute and twenty seconds
with an extra attacker, however, they were unable
to beat the North Lambton goalie. Scoring for the
Tartans were Sam McFadden and Katherine VanderVeeken.
Assists went to Tara Fice, Bailey Berkvens, and
Sarah Noyle. All of the Tartans played well. Graduating
players Jacey Taylor and Katherine VanderVeeken
will be missed as they have demonstrated strong
leadership for the younger players. Special thanks
to Ashley Howell and Niko Peters for helping at
the doo r and Tanner Heath and Derrek Ricciotti
for score-keeping.
Great Season Tartans!
