HARRIET JACOBS CENTRE
The Harriet Jacobs Centre is located in Room 145 at
W.D.S.S., and is home to the Walpole Island First
Nation Secondary School Program. The Centre employs
3 Education Workers who provide on site services for
the 150+ First Nation students and are liaisons between
the students, school, family and Walpole Island First
Nation community.
OUR TEAM:
Suzette Jacobs – Secondary School Program Coordinator
Suzette is responsible for overseeing the Secondary
School Program, and the Secondary School Program Team.
While she is responsible for preparing and monitoring
the Secondary School Program budget, she also coordinates
program development.
Amy White- Attendance/Education Worker. While Amy is responsible for attendance related issues for all First Nation students at WDSS, she also acts as a support liaison between Walpole Island First Nation students, their parents and WDSS staff in all matters of education.
Joel Johnson – Education Support Worker and
Career Advisor Joel is responsible for First Nation
student career planning. He provides direction for
all Walpole Island First Nation students to continue
their education into occupational or other post-secondary
education.
