The Future Elders is a group for students who are interested in learning more about Aboriginal culture and making a positive difference in the community. Some events that the Future Elders have helped to organize are the WDSS Pow-Wow and National Chief Phil Fontaine's Visit to WDSS in May 2008. The group has weekly meetings and hosts guest speakers such as Suzie Jones, Leslee White-Eye, Uriah Dodge, and Muriel Sampson.

Portia Shipman, Jamie Johnson, Eli Snake, Nancy Shipman, Ashley Shipman, Chase Whiteye, Anthony Whiteye, Jorel Myers, Alicia Blackeagle, Levi White, D.J. White, Kara Miskokomon, Alwyn Bluff, Jordan Kiyoshk, Annie Shipman, Nancy Peters, and Buddy Riley.

The Future Elders will be holding fundraisers such as Corn Soup, Taco, Fry Bread, and Greeting Card Sales over the course of the school year. We are also hoping to put together a Residential School Survivor Memorial Service in the Spring of 2009. Some other projects that we will be involved with are a Community Leaders Booklet, hosting various guest speakers, and possibly designing a line of Future Elders clothing.
